Nigerian singing sensation Moelogo has
received a whooping sum of £250,000
(Two hundred and fifty thousand Pounds
Sterling) from the British Phonographic
Institute in order to promote his music
abroad.
Information from the BPI website reveals

and supporting initiatives that inform and
educate consumers about the value and
importance of music, alongside raising
awareness of legal digital music services
and the issues surrounding illegal
downloading.
The BPI runs Music Exports Growth
Scheme (MEGS) which awards £249,385
to UK indie music labels and companies
to support 21 acts in their overseas
promotional touring and marketing.
The ‘Ireti’ crooner was part of the 21
British acts who received the funds
which is aimed at growing their profiles
and fan-bases and promoting their
releases overseas through live tours,
digital engagement and other activities.
Moelogo who is currently on a
promotional visit to Nigeria was not
around to receive the grant however it
was received by a representative.
BPI has awarded around £1.6 million of
Government investment to promote over
100 UK artists internationally since its
