Armed Robbers Stole Igboho Supporters’ Case File From Our Custody -DSS

The State Security Service on Wednesday told the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court that armed robbers have carted away the case file of Sunday Igboho’s supporters who have been in custody since the brutal invasion of their residence in Ibadan weeks ago.

A lawyer representing the SSS told Justice Obiora Egwuatu that the incident came when armed robbers operating a one-chance cartel stole attacked an official in charge of the documents.

He did not immediately say whether the incident occurred in Abuja or other parts of the country.

The lawyer said the matter should be adjourned, but the court has yet to accede to the request as of the time of filing this report.

Court Stops AGF, DSS From Arresting Sunday Igboho

Justice Ladiean Akintola of the Oyo High Court has approved an ex-parte motion restraining the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Department of State Security (DSS) from arresting, harassing, intimidating and blocking bank accounts of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

The order was approved after an ex-parte motion moved by Igboho’s lawyer, Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN), at the court on Wednesday.

“The court has ordered that he must not be arrested, detained, or killed in the next 14 days. The account also said that his account should not be blocked,” Yomi Aliu said following the case.

The motion developed from the originating motion seeking N500 billion damages for invasion of his house in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last month.

Aliu expressed confidence that Malami will not disobey the court order, stressing that it was given directly against his office.

However, the hearing in the suit was adjourned to August 18.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Sends Message To His Supporters From DSS Custody

Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has thanked his supporters.

His comments were contained in a statement signed by his lead counsel, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, on Monday.

According to Ejiofor, they were able to see Kanu, following weeks of speculations and uncertainties.

“He is firm and stable, less the burden of solitary confinement and concomitant mental torture arising therefrom.

“Though the Detaining Authority is giving him medical attention but he still requires advanced medical care, which formed substantial part of the relief in our application before the Court.

“He specifically requested that we should extend his heartfelt compliment to Millions of his supporters worldwide and all foreign Governments and institutions who are relentlessly following up. Media houses are indeed not left out of this classification.

“We are winning but your prayers are doing wonders, don’t relent, as you continue to remain law abiding,” he said.

Ejiofor promised to give frequent updates, “now that the visit will be more regular than before.”

Kanu has been in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, since he was rearrested and repatriated from an undisclosed African country
