Singer Tonto Dikeh gives back to society in a big way

We all know her by all the controversy and news surrounding this pretty talent by name Tonto Wigo Charity Dikeh-Churchill. She first started out as an actress having emerged as first runner-up from the reality television show The Next Movie Star in 2005. After years of charming us all on the big screen, she delved into music and made her debut by releasing singles ‘Hi’ and ‘Itz Ova’ feat Snypa which got everyone talking for different reasons. She followed suit with other songs like Crazily Fit featuring Terry G and Jeje. She got signed to multiple award winning artiste D’Banj’s record ensign DB Records and thus made her mark as a singer and song writer. She later quit the label after delivery of her first child in March 2015.

Much hasn’t been heard of her till recently when the River State protege through her NGO “The Tonto Dikeh Foundation” hit the headlines again through a charity event tagged ‘A Walk of Love’. This time she gave back to society in what could be termed ‘a big heart move’. She fulfilled her pledge of a road construction for people living with disability at the Disabled Colony in Karimajiji Village in the capital city of Abuja.

In her speech, she had this to say,
I realized the difficulties and challenges that the physically challenged people at the Karimajiji Village are facing; Poor Road Networks, Inefficient Electric Power supply, Inadequate Water Supply, Low Standard Schools & Poor Hygienic environment. I know these people can never function optimally. It’s disheartening to know that government can neglect a village where over 2500 physically challenged persons are living in the capital city of Nigeria (Abuja)”.
She further made her pledge saying,
“We are proud to let you know that work will commence on all the roads leading to Karamajiji Village from Friday 23rd and be completed on Saturday 24th of December and 25th of December 2016 will be a time to merry with the people at the disabled colony. So we use this medium to invite every body to join us as we bring smiles to the faces of the less privileged.
Merry xmas and a prosperous new year to you all”
Notable individuals present at the gathering are TV presenter Rachel Bakam, Praiz, Nollywood twin actresses better know as The Aneke Twins, Halima Abubakar, comedienne Helen Paul, legendary rapper Rugged Man, Emma Nyra, Bez,  Jaywon, Mamuze twins and so many others.
