Police Raid Blackspots In Ekiti , Arrest 85 Suspected Criminals

No fewer than 85 suspected criminals have been arrested by the combined teams of Police and National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives in Ekiti State.This, according to the State police command was in fulfillment of parts of the promises made by the Commissioner of Police , Mr Wilson Inalegwu to rid the state of criminals in the state on assumption of duty. The suspects were apprehended during raid operations carried out by the law enforcement agents on blackspots and criminal hideouts at Atikankan, Mathew
roundabout, Ijan motor park at Imayo Street and Odo-Ado tipper Garage. All in Ado Ekiti, the state capital. A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Mr Alberto Adeyemi said 83 of the suspects were males while 2 of them were females.
Adeyemi who disclosed that 65 wraps of substance suspected to be Indian hemp and charms were recovered from the suspects who he said some of them were on the command’s wanted list. He said the suspects will be prosecuted as soon as investigation is completed. In another development, safer highways patrol team,
said to be on pindown and stop and search duty along Ido-Ifaki Ekiti road in Ido-Osi local government area of the state were attacked by some hoodlums, armed with dangerous weapons at their point.
A black Golf car , marked Lagos APP 448 DS suspected to be conveying 14 goats stolen was recovered. One Basiru Adebayo was also arrested with bullet
wounds and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Efforts, according to imagemaker were on to arrest the
other members of the gang who are at large.
