finale of this year’s Civil Service Week. Each of them also received cash gifts and bags of rice as part of the stomach infrastructure scheme. The governor also said the state government would next year embark on the fencing of the State

While appreciating the contributions of the civil service to the successes recorded by his administration, Fayose urged the workers to continue to improve on their performance. “I appreciate and commend the state’s civil servants for your contributions and understanding. I am proud of you and to be a leader of
the state today. I won’t take my return to office for granted and I promise to give the people the best,” he stated. The governor also said he would be part of the
committee that would look into all the issues raised by the workers during the interactive sessions he held with
them. He urged all Ekiti people to have the mind of leaving Ekiti State better than they met it. In his address, the Head of Service, Dr. Glenga Faseluka, commended the governor for giving top priority to workers’ needs despite the lean resources at the disposal of the government. He said the nearly 49,000 workers in the state would always support the administration to deliver on its promises to the people. Faseluka urged workers not to relent in partnering with the present administration in delivering selfless service to the people of Ekiti State. Mrs Bamisile Lucy, who picked the yes ballot, emerged the winner of the Kia Rio car among three shortlisted
candidates in the senior cadre. Alhaji Adeoye Akeem, who emerged the runner up went home with N250, 000, while Miss Adeyemi Olayinka emerged the winner of the best civil servant in the Junior category. She was given N500, 000. All the shortlisted candidates were given letters of commendation personally signed by the governor. As part of his commitment to developing human capacity, the governor also launched the Fountain
Bureaucrat, journal of the Public Service of Ekiti State with a sum of N2million.
Fayose while launching the journal stated that it's contents represent the facts and figures of events, which had happened since the creation of the State in 1996.
The governor lauded the Head of Service, Dr.Olugbenga Faseluka, who doubles as the publisher of the journal, for coordinating the activities of the
service well. He said the Head of Service has demonstrated within two years of his appointment that it is possible to
transform the public service of the state for the benefit of all citizens.
“Good works speak for themselves so we are not begging people to support good works. This journal is a good job. It represents facts and figures of events in
our State. Without records, we are only fooling ourselves. This is perfect and it befits our image. I appreciate the men and women who have put this together,” the governor said. While also speaking, the winner of the best civil servant of the year, Mrs. Bamisile thanked the governor for encouraging Ekiti workers by presenting
car and cash gifts for outstanding workers of the year.
