The Federal Government on Thursday announced its plans to create mass vaccination sites in higher institutions of learning and religious centres.

The Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja.

According to Shuaib, the latest decision of the Federal Government to create the vaccination sites was due to the need to fast track vaccination in the country.

He said:-

“We have made plans to create mass vaccination sites and such sites include higher institutions like Universities, Polytechnics and also religious centres like churches. We will be putting structures in place to achieve this.”

Train corp members to fight Boko Haram – Governor Fayemi to FG

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, has said the security situation in the country requires concerted effort to address it.

Fayemi while speaking at an event in Ibadan said the security situation in the country didn’t warrant politics of blame, NAN reports.

According to the Chairman, Nigerian Governor’s Forum (NGF), one way to bring the current wave of insecurity to a halt is to recruit a large number of people to join the police and the military..

He pointed out that one of the cheapest and fastest ways to handle this was to amend the law setting up the Nation Youths Service Corps (NYSC) such that the existing orientation camps can be used to train willing and able graduates to join the fight against insurgency under a special arrangement that will be worked out.

He said corp members who cannot join the military services can serve in their community without pay.

Fayemi said; “By available statistics, we need minimum of 200,000 personnel to boost the fighting power of our men.

“This number is very large and a potential financial and logistic nightmare, yet we cannot delay any further.

“The ungoverned spaces needed to be closed up quickly by motivated men with the singular objective to save the nation. That takes us to the number two issue of financing and arming large recruitment.

“With this, we can use the existing orientation camps to train willing and able graduates to reflate the security personnel under a special arrangement that will be worked out.

“That way, the fund that is currently deployed to the NYSC can be used with just some additional funding, which could be sourced through a national emergency fund for the next five to 10 years.

“Those who cannot join the military services can serve in their community without pay, if we must still retain the NYSC for everyone.

“To incentivize those who may volunteer to serve, they will have a separate certificate and medal of honour in addition to having priority for military, paramilitary and civil or public service recruitment after service.

“We also need to encourage investment in the real sectors that can engage people and reduce unemployment, which is a major source of insecurity,” the NGF chairman added.

Cryptocurrency market is witnessing major upheaval following China's blanket ban on cryptocurrencies, which was announced last week. Bitcoin opened at Rs. 33,52,013 (roughly $45,185) on Wednesday, September 29. The world's most-valued cryptocurrency witnessed a marginal dip of 0.78 percent making it the second day in a row to have dropped in exchange value. A day ago, Bitcoin had slumped by 2.96 percent. Analysts from exchange platform CoinDCX believe that the Chinese government's crypto restrictions have resulted in a sell-off with only a little long-term impact on Bitcoin price, which has often been seen to recover following an initial dip.

The day began on a rough note for the world's second most-valued cryptocurrency Ether as well. The Ethereum blockchain-based cryptocurrency fell in price by 1.39 percent. Presently, Ether is trading at Rs. 2,31,183 (roughly $3,116). On September 29, Ether had registered a significant drop of 5.93 percent, as per the Gadgets 360 crypto-price tracker.

Similarly, other popular cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin, Cardano, and Litecoin have also witnessed marginal slips in exchange values.

"The past 24 hours witnessed the bears dominating the cryptocurrency market. The two largest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ether, were massively sold off. The fear and greed index points to a score of 25 indicating the presence of fear across the crypto market," Edul Patel, CEO and co-founder of crypto-investment platform of Mudrex

Given the market instability, only a handful of popular cryptocurrencies registered a rise in their exchange values today.

Uniswap and Bitcoin SV are among the few cryptocurrencies that did witness a price hike, but only marginally.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s eNaira website has gone live ahead of the October 1 official launch.

According to the website, www.enaira.com, “eNaira is a CB -issued digital currency that provides a unique form of money denominated in Naira.”

Find out what makes the eNaira different from the money in your bank account — according to the apex bank itself.

What is eNaira?

eNaira is a central bank digital currency (CBDC) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria as a legal tender. It is the digital form of the Naira and will be used just like cash.

What is an eNaira wallet?
The eNaira wallet is a digital storage that holds the eNaira. It is held and managed on a distributed ledger.
The eNaira wallet is required to access, hold and use eNaira.

Is eNaira wallet safe?
Yes. The eNaira system uses a two-factor authentication system in addition to cryptographic encryption to ensure the safety of customers’ wallets and the eNaira holding.

How are eNaira wallets created?
For smartphone users, download the eNaira app (termed “Speed”) from either the Google Play Store or Apple Store and complete the registration process.
For feature phone users, utilize USSD codes and follow the registration prompts.

How do I connect my eNaira wallet to my bank account?
The eNaira app allows customers to identify a bank of their choice, connect to their bank accounts and perform transactions.

What makes eNaira different from the money in my bank account?
eNaira is the digital form of the cash and is a direct liability on the Central Bank of Nigeria while the customer deposits are direct liabilities on the financial institutions.

How do I resolve failed transactions or raise enquiries on eNaira?
Reach out to the customer support of the bank you selected when registering for eNaira through their available channels which include: phone, email, whatsapp, etc. Disputes will be resolved as soon as possible.
If issues are not resolved within 48 hours, send an email to CBN’s eNaira Customer Support via helpdesk@enaira.com

What are the different tiers of eNaira wallets that I can open as an individual?

Twitter is adding another feature, “Topics” to Spaces. Topics will allow hosts to add tags to their Spaces to help users find their audio rooms easily. You can add up to three relevant topics so that like-minded individuals can find you.

The functionality is currently restricted. It’s only available to Android users, and there are only ten Topics in total that users can pick from. The Topics are only available in English. Twitter, on the other hand, claimed that iOS support is on the way and that the number of accessible Topics will expand “as we create together.”

Business and Finance, Music, Sports, Technology, Gaming, World News, Entertainment, Arts and Culture, Home and Family, and Careers are among the first ten Topics available on Twitter, which individuals may select to follow to get relevant content on their timelines.

The company announced in a tweet, “new in Spaces: Topics! when creating or scheduling a Space, some of you on Android can choose up to 3 Topics to tag it with from a list of our top 10 Topics. BUT it’s only 10 Topics for now and we’ll expand as we build together. English only (also for now!), iOS soon.”

The addition of topics to Twitter Spaces makes it function very closely to how Clubhouse works. Clubhouse has different topics and clubs where users can explore and join based on their preferences.

Since launching Spaces, Twitter has been constantly upgrading it to make it better for users. In recent months, the company started rolling out Ticketed Spaces as a way to support creators on Twitter for their time and effort in hosting.

Tesla, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in California, is anticipated to manufacture 300,000 cars in the first nine months of 2021, according to Reuters.

Despite a global semiconductor scarcity, the vehicles will be manufactured at Tesla’s Shanghai facility.

Model 3 sedans and Model Y sport-utility vehicles are produced at the Shanghai facility for both local and foreign markets, including Germany and Japan.

China is Tesla’s second-largest market after the United States, accounting for about 30% of worldwide sales and contributing to the automaker’s record first-quarter car deliveries.

According to figures from the China Passenger Car Association, over 240,000 cars were transported from the facility in the first eight months, with many of them destined for export.

Tesla’s plant is projected to produce 450,000 vehicles this year, including 66,100 for export, according to the report.

What you should know

  • Tesla is employing legal and external relations managers in China, where the company is under criticism for data security and customer service issues.
  • The Palo Alto, California-based company makes electric sedans and SUVs, and investors are optimistic about the possibility of global government policies encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. Tesla built a factory to manufacture its large-scale Megapack battery system. Megapack energy storage is intended for utilities.
  • Tesla also just released a long-awaited software update that allows consumers to request access to the company’s Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD beta).
  • Tesla will only provide access to drivers who have a high safety rating. The self-driving beta is promoted as a means for a Tesla to change lanes, navigate on the highway, move into a parking spot, or roll out of a parking spot to drive a short distance at a slow speed without the need for a human driver.
  • Elon Musk owns 20% of Tesla, and he is entitled to receive billions more from his payroll agreement based on Tesla stock.
  • Tesla, the world’s most valuable automaker recorded a 2.75% gain in stock market trade on Friday, exceeding a $764.55 buy point.

Microsoft subsequently confirmed the life of Windows 11 at some stage in an event in June. this observed months of leaks and speculation from each nook of the net. some months later, Microsoft announced that Windows 11 could formally roll out to the public on October 5th. but you shouldn’t wait that long to get the very last model of the update. in fact, you may upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 without spending a dime nowadays, and we’ll tell you how to do it.

The first thing that you are going to want to do is ensure that your computer is compatible with the Windows 11 upgrade. This has been one of the biggest controversies surrounding the release of the update. Microsoft isn’t bringing nearly as many devices into the next generation as users expected. You can download the PC Health App directly from Microsoft by clicking on this link.

How to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11

Once you are sure that your computer is compatible with Windows 11, the next step is to register for the Windows Insider Program. The upgrade is only available to Insiders right now, but the program is completely free. Just follow the steps on Microsoft’s website to sign up.

After you join the Windows Insider Program, you should be ready to upgrade. On your Windows 10 PC, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program. Click the “Get started” button and link your Microsoft account. You should then be prompted to pick your Insider settings, at which point you should select the Release Preview ring. Confirm your settings, agree to the terms, and then reset your computer. When you go back to the Update & Security settings, you should see a large banner about upgrading to Windows 11. Click the “Download and Install” button.

Once the upgrade is complete, you can stay on the final, stable build of Windows 11 by going back to Settings > Windows Update and clicking “Stop getting preview builds.” This will stop Microsoft from pushing early versions of future updates to your Windows 11 computer.

Some of the standout features in Windows 11 include a centered Taskbar and redesigned Start menu, an updated File Manager, a Widgets drawer, and all-new Snap Groups and Snap Layouts for improved multitasking. There’s also a redesigned Settings app, new themes, new sounds, and rounded corners everywhere you look. If you aren’t quite ready to upgrade yet, the final public build will be available for everyone on October 5th. At that point, everyone with a compatible PC can upgrade.

The widely celebrated and highly acclaimed TV game show that keeps Nigerian families glued to their seats,“WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?” (WWTBAM), is back, bigger and better, with contestants now standing a chance to duel it out for a fantastic grand prize of #20 million every week, all year long.

The number one educational Nigerian show, hosted by Frank Edoho aired on NTA before it was temporarily suspended

The show is based on the original British version, known casually as “Millionaire” and popularly called “WWTBAM” in the literature space, aired for over 13 years from October 8, 2004, until June 25, 2017, when it was temporarily canned.

In the thirteen memorable years of gracing our screens, the show which enthralled TV audiences far and wide with its exciting and educating editions, boasted of formidable participants, a deep wealth of knowledge and one worthy winner of the staggering prize money of N10 million in the person of Aroma Ufodike who became the first winner of the much-coveted top prize of this stupendous game show.

Speaking on the return of the show, Hakeem Condotti, CEO of BLK HUT Media, the Licensee and production house stated:

As a company, our desire is to continuously deliver creative, intelligent and professional content to the market for the people and partner brands; and in the production of a brand with WWTBAM stature, we are able to show our range and capacity to this effect.

We are proud to be bringing international quality content right to our screens again in Nigeria, be it on TV, Digital, Cable, or Mobile. As part of the much-needed COVID relief that we all need as a nation, WWTBAM is back to entertain, educate and once again, have viewers on the edge of their seats and creating millionaires every week.”

The date of the latest edition is yet to be announced and it is not yet clear if Frank Edoho, TV personality, will return as host of the show.

The Central Bank of  Nigeria is set to unveil a digital currency dubbed the ‘e-Naira’ by October 2021.

According to CBN, the e-Naira is a legal tender equal to the value of the naira and thus must be accepted as a form of payment by all merchants and business outlets in the country.

Below are seven things you should know about the e-Naira:

1. The e-Naira is a currency that only exists in an electronic form.

2. The liability of the e-Naira money is directly borne by the CBN, the same way the liability of the physical naira rests on the central banker.

3. From October 1st, 2021, when the currency goes into effect, Nigerians can open e-wallets on their phones.

4. One of the benefits of digital currency is that it would reduce the cost of minting the physical naira and kobo.

5. The CBN Director, Payment System Management, Mr. Musa Jimoh added that charges of transferring funds would be lower for those using the e-naira.

6. Based on a CBN presentation on eNaira, banks will be responsible for promoting and marketing the centrally issued digital currency as a cash alternative to existing and potential customers in support of its goal for financial inclusion.

7. The eNaira’s, system will be subjected to comprehensive security checks, and all data and personally identifiable information will be kept off the ledger and not be stored on the ledger.

5 Low-Cost Skills You Can Learn Right Now & Start Making Money

What I mean by low-cost skills are skills that will cost a very small amount of money to learn but can make you thousands of naira every week once you become an expert at it.

1. WORDPRESS  design and DEVELOPMENT

WordPress is a Content Management System(CMS) that carries over 30 percent of websites all over the world which means WordPress is very popular CMS learning WordPress development is one of the low-cost skills you can acquire within a short period of time which depends on how fast you learn. you can earn up to 200 - 350k from developing a WordPress website for a client.
the most amazing part of this is that WordPress development is a very easy-to-learn skill. with Youtube videos, a few blog posts, and in a few months of practice, you will be good at it and start charging any amount from clients.

2. CANVA DESIGN

Canva https://www.canva.com/ is drag and drops graphics design website that allows you to design any kind of graphics, from fliers to posters, Instagram creatives, YouTube thumbnails, websites, etc.
All you need to do is to visit the website, navigate to the 'learn' part, watch videos, read and digest their blog posts. YouTube videos can also help you do well too. And with a few months of serious practice, you're ready to start making some money as a graphics designer.

3. INSHOT VIDEO EDITING

Inshot  https://inshot.com/)  is a video editing mobile app that can be used to edit YouTube videos, Reels, TikTok, etc. It can cut and edit, add music, add B-roll, add text, and so on to your videos.
All you need to get started is to just download the app on your phone and play around with it. Try to edit a few videos for yourself and once you're an expert at it, you can then start editing other people's videos and earn from them.

4. CONTENT WRITING

This part is where critical thinking sets in because writers are born and writers are made. Most of us writers and bloggers were made through constant practicing and learning, it's not compulsory to be a Pro writer before you get your first gig as a content writer.

In other to learn how to write, start visiting websites like medium, read blog posts on writing from Pinterest also read a lot of tips from writers then start practicing every day. Once you've mastered the type and kind of writing you want, you can start receiving gigs as a content writer for blogs, freelance like Upwork, etc

5. PODCASTING

A podcast is an episodic series of spoken-word digital audio files that a user can download to a personal device for easy listening.

Starting a podcast, you don't need to be an expert before getting started,  visit YouTube for podcast videos and read blog posts about podcasting then you start your first podcast using your smartphone, install and sound editing app from your app store getting a PC will be an added advantage, you don't really need expensive tools before you can start your podcast. you can click here to read more about podcasting

Conclusion

All these costs little to nothing, you just need to give it your time and commitment. always remember, nothing good comes easy. it's not compulsory to own a PC before you can these things, it's just that PC will be an added advantage for easy navigation. So dedicate 3-4 months to becoming great at these skills and you'll reap the works of your labor
Good luck!

Apple released the first beta for iOS 15.1 on Tuesday, exactly one day after iOS 15 rolled out to the public. All that we know so far is that the latest beta contains bug fixes and improvements, but we’ll be sure to share an update if and when we learn more about the new software.

First of all, we should note that all of the devices that were supported by iOS 14 will be supported by iOS 15 as well, so if you were able to update to iOS 14, you’re in the clear for at least one more year, even if you’re still using an iPhone 6s Plus, an iPad Air 2, or an iPad mini 4.

What’s new in iOS 15.1 beta 1?

After removing SharePlay in iOS 15 beta 2, Apple has re-enabled the feature in the iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, and tvOS 15.1 betas. You’ll no longer need the SharePlay Development Profile for the feature to work. Also, users can now upload their COVID-19 vaccination status in the Health app and generate a vaccination card in Apple Wallet. This will be useful for places that require proof of vaccination.

Which devices work with iOS 15.1 beta 1?

iOS 15.1 beta 1 is now available to developers, as is iPadOS 15.1 beta 1. If you want to know whether or not your device is compatible with iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, we put together a full list below containing every supported device. If your device is on the list, you’re good to go:

How to download and install iOS 15.1 beta 1 profile

As you know by now, installing the latest iOS or iPadOS beta on your iPhone, iPad, or your iPod touch could not be easier. Just navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and then tap “Download and Install” at the bottom of that page. If you want, you can also install the update through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to your computer. Whichever method you choose, just make sure to back up your device before installing the update. You can never be too careful!
